Here in the South it's the norm to have black eyed peas for New Years Day, it is said to bring you luck for the new year. Why not? Over the years I've learned to cook these things up and pair them up with some cornbread. I recently ran across a recipe for dip utilizing black eyed peas...perhaps next year!
